wheels,bearings,brakes,and chrome

So today I decided to pull the wheels off the 103 and start doing some work on them. I had already ordered a new set of brakes from treats so I at least planned on placing these on the wheels.

After pulling the wheels off my ocd kicked in and I cleaned and polished the wheels. I think I did a really good job considering what they originally looked like.

I should have taken more before photos when I first started these where black ad red from tar and rust.

I then placed the pads in, they went in really easy, and seem to be better than the stock pads.

So after I was done cleaning them my ocd kicked into overdrive and I decided to check out the bearings and all. Turns out the rear bearing where seized, the front cones where still good though, go figure! Lucky for me My buddy Michael Mike happened to have some bearings laying around so I am going to replace these soon. I am waiting on money right now so this is going to be a real slow project for sure. I am thinking if I dont stick with the stock green color of the bike I may go seafoam green, I have never seen a seafoam green 103 or moped for that matter. More to come

I got all new magura levers in the mail this week, so I will be putting those and the handlebars on soon!

quick update!

So the beloved Kinetic has been sold! I sold it to a really cool guy that seems like he really wants to get into mopeds……and he never called it a scooter so we are good.  I was planning on using the money to fund my new 103 project but my dog went to the vet this morning and we confirmed she needs to have surgery to remove a bladder stone, so……. Yah I am still going to shoot to have this bike running by ralley of the beast in august. It will most likely be unpainted and looking like somekind of contraption, but whatever….. Pics to come soon!

bonjour 103!!!!!

Thats right all you haters! I just scored myself a peugeot 103!  yeah yeah, it took some work to get ahold of, but not much. I just begged Dan Kastner lke a little girl until he sold it to me! Anyway I have a 103, and it runs. I changed the plug at seattle mopeds today, gave it a little gas and (put put put put pllllllllll put) I have a running moped.  This moped is going to be my new project bike. The baretta is running good now, an will be my regular rider until this peugeot 103 is going. Here are some pics of the bike, some new bars I got for it, and my mess of a moped shop. This bike is gong to be sick fast!!!!!  Can you say highway 99?

So after some hunting to find a 103, it appears I have come up empty handed, the 103 eludes me yet again.   So i am planning on rebuilding the tfr this weekend in my free time, I need to get my fornt wheel situation figured out. I need to find bearings that will fit the front wheel, and I also need to port the motor since its out.  more pics to come.
